Cocoru

As a Richmond native, Alexandra Road (Central Richmond) is basically my home and Cocoru is the newest addition to the Alexandra family. Unlike most restaurants in the area, this one is actually Korean run and has a fun and modern appeal; decorated with superhero figurines everywhere.

Akasaka

J wanted to bring me somewhere new today so I happily followed and after a while, we arrived at a secluded old-fashion Asian house which turned out to be Akasaka, a Korean-Japanese restaurant. I was going to get the best of both worlds in one meal? Sign me up. To my surprise, the whole front dining area was empty; everyone was actually dining in the individual Japanese style rooms in the back...so of course we followed suit. Boom Beer 붐비어

Boom Beer is my best friends' place to eat and it's to not surprise I've been dragged (very willingly) to eat there numerous times. As a Richmonder, I compare Boom Beer to L.A. I remember seeing a picture of the ramen burger a while back ago when it surfaced in the States and right then I knew I had to try that glorious handful of fried goodness. I mean what can go wrong when you combine ramen (my favourite food) with anything..?

Cafe Joie

Metrotown is somewhere every Vancouverite has been to, but have you been to Cafe Joie? This quaint cafe is located literally 2 minutes away from the big mall and I have to say it is definitely a gem that I will be going back to. Not only is the interior to my liking, but also the type of food they serve: coffee, sandwiches, and waffles! This is a great addition to the Metrotown area which really lacks in establishments of its kind.
