Bacchus

Bacchus has surprisingly never been on my radar and I'm not sure if it's just because it's so hidden and underrated or if I'm just not their target customer. Bacchus operates under downtown's luxury boutique hotel, Wedgewood Hotel and regularly awarded for being the city's best lounge/bar. That is to no surprise especially after my most recent visit a while ago when I had the chance to dine here  thanks to my Dine Out Vancouver 2014 grand prize.

Chambar

"Chambar: an unpretentious fling with fine dining"

...probably one of the more accurate statements a restaurant has used to describe itself. The Schuermans (owners of Chambar and Cafe Medina) have not disappointed with the new and improved Chambar on Beatty Street. The variety of food has expanded and the dining space is nothing short of modern elegance. My review today is based off my most recent two visits

Blue Water Cafe + Raw Bar

Blue Water Cafe + Raw Bar has consistently been commended for nothing short of the best after winning countless awards for Best Seafood from multiple magazines and other awards like Best Yaletown and Best Restaurant. However, those rewards on paper mean nothing if the same quality isn't delivered during the dining experience - which I can gladly say are definitely present. To this day, I've visited Blue Water twice and I can vouch for the consistent good vibes from this place : )

Gyoza Bar + Ramen

Miku and Minami have swept the charts for being some of Vancouver's finest aburi style establishments but now it's time for Aburi Restaurants Canada to tackle a market that has been gaining popularity in the area: gyoza and ramen. As The city's first gyoza bar, the concept of Gyoza Bar + Ramen is definitely intriguing and gaining interest among foodies Vancouver wide. I had the chance to free up my previous Saturday night to attend their opening day as well as a quick late dinner the day after. Please remember that this is an opening day dining experience review!

Kita No Donburi

This little Japanese restaurant is not too far from Waterfront station and conveniently located along my bus route. I've been here twice already and I can say that this place is a nice quiet spot to grab a quick and decent lunch. During my most recent visit (a few days ago), I was disappointed to see that the Sushi Pizza I ordered a few months ago was no longer on the menu :(

Abode Restaurant

So the journey with my box of Dine Out certificates continue and this time I went to Abode Restaurant which is located conveniently on Robson street not too far from all the main shops. I've crossed by this place SO many times but I can't really put my finger on why I've never given it a visit- despite the fact that I've probably eaten at most of the restaurants near the main commercial Robson area.
